ABOUT

Hi! I'm Roxy.

Have you ever wondered how to build a house?

Are you thinking of building a house of your own?

Maybe, you need to know how to remodel your current home.

I want to help!  Come learn with me as my husband and I build our house from buying raw land to calling it home.

We bought 20 acres of land in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2019 after searching for 4 1/2 years for a new home. We are owner-builders and our goal is to build a simple, functional house to fit our large family where we can share God’s blessings with others.  We hope you are blessed through our adventure.

A few quick facts about me:

—  I love Jesus and He is my solid rock.  Just like our house needs a good foundation, I need Him each moment of every day.  Without the grace of God, I am nothing.

—  I have a very wonderful and patient husband who I work alongside and have been sharing life with for 15 years.  He loves me through all of my crazy ideas that keep him on his toes, and I love him right back!

—  My family is what some would call large and others might call mid-sized, but it certainly isn’t small.  We have 6 beautiful kiddos and it’s crazy and chaotic and wonderful all at the same time.

—  I enjoy walking in God’s creation without ear buds, so I can hear everything!  We live out in the country, and contrary to what some might believe, it can be noisy here too.  It’s different though and I wouldn’t have it another way.

—  I love growing and raising our food.  Each growing season is an experiment and it’s fun to see what happens.  Honestly, we need our garden and animals to produce a lot of food for our crowd.  The kids are in on it too, each having their own little plot or helping with the main plot.  They have even built a couple of chicken coops with repurposed materials.  It’s a lot of fun!

—  I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling Mama, and my husband and I hope to teach the kids all about building a home through our building project.  Quite often they are working alongside us or building smaller projects of their own with what they’ve learned.  Talk about hands-on learning!

—  I read books on occasion.  I’ve been in a book club for about 13 years and counting.  We read books of all sorts as well as fellowship together.

That’s just scratching the surface, of course, but it gives you a little idea of me.  I hope you enjoy your time here!
